Sean Baker, director

Last Sunday marked the 97th Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars. I’ve attended a few London Oscar parties in the past, but these days, I’m content to wake up to the results.

One of this year’s biggest winners led me to revisit the archives, where I found this portrait of independent filmmaker Sean Baker. His film Anora received seven nominations and won six awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

The movie is on my must-watch list and is currently enjoying a rerun in cinemas across the UK.

It’s been a joy to wake up early to brighter mornings, with longer days on the horizon. The soft light and atmospheric fog have made for some magical moments.

On a recent morning, before the toddlers had even finished their cereal, I found myself sneaking into their play space at the park—camera in hand. The result is a fresh collection of images capturing the quiet beauty of the morning.

I’m excited to share that a selection of these photographs are now available for purchase at the print store. Take a look and bring a piece of this serene atmosphere into your space.

Ernest Cole: Lost and Found

This month, I’m highlighting Ernest Cole: Lost and Found, a compelling documentary directed by Raoul Peck.

The film tells the story of Ernest Cole, a South African photographer whose book House of Bondage exposed the harsh realities of apartheid.

His work led to his exile in Europe and America, but his impact remains significant.

Ernest Cole: Lost and Found is a film for history and photography enthusiasts alike, and is on general release from today.
